Cougars in Recovery, the collegiate recovery community at the University of Houston, is raising funds for "Reaching Our Highest Heights in Recovery!" This project will allow college students in recovery from substance use disorders to participate in the life changing experience of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in an environment that fully supports their recovery. This experience will offer the opportunity for students to develop as individuals while striving to achieve their personal goals and accomplish their lifelong dreams. Just picture this group of students holding a University of Houston Cougars in Recovery banner at the top of the highest peak in Africa!
Upon completion of the climb, students will spend a few days working with Hard Life Artists. This club provides art and craft lessons for underprivileged kids in Rau Moshi, Tanzania. They provide a safe place for children to create art and listen to music while surrounded by a community of young people looking to support one another. Artwork is sold to raise money for the community.
Please consider making a donation in support of this phenomenal opportunity!
